This is photography learning at its most personal and its most practical - a structured three week program of live, one on one Zoom sessions designed for photographers at any skill level - though if you are an absolute beginner, this program was built with you especially in mind

This is you and me, face to face, working through everything together - your camera, your questions, your pace.

Why a few days between sessions?
Because photography is learned by doing
not only watching.
The gap between sessions is where the
real learning happens.
You go out with your camera, complete your task, take photos, and come bck to the next session with real experience and real questions
Each session follows a simple rhythm:
Review your photos from the previous task together
Learn the new topic/s for the week
Set your task/s to complete before the next sesion
You have two options:
Meet twice a week for three weeks
or meet once a week for six weeks.
Each Zoom meet is up to an hour
If you need the full hour it's yours
If you've grasped the learning intention
you'll get your tasks so that you can get out there and lock down the learning
This mentorship is dynamic
it is not set in stone, rather lovely lush mud that moves with you, at your pace
YOUR SIX SESSIONS
Session 1
Getting to know you, your camera and your goals.
Understanding light and learning how important it is to actually 'see' light, truly see it - will take your photography to the next level
Sessions 2 & 3
Exposure, focus, aperture, fstops, Depth of Field. Understanding what your camera sees and how to take control of it
Sessions 4 & 5
Shutter speed, ISO, metering modes, exposure compensation, drive modes. The full picture of how your camera controls light
Session 6
Composition and the perfect storm elements required to take your photography from snap shot to great shot, and finally putting all the pieces of the jigsaw together
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
LIGHT & SEEING
Learning to see light the way a photographer sees it - the foundation of everything that follows
APERTURE MODE
Understanding how to use your camera in aperture mode and why. Taking control of Fstops to create a depth of field
EXPOSURE
What your camera is actually does, looks at light and calculates how to 'expose' the 'right' amount of light in your photo
FOCUS AND DRIVE
Moving off auto auto focus so that YOU are in control of what is in focus and not the camera and shutter (drive) modes.
COMPOSITION
How to frame your subject so that it feels balanced in your photo - understanding compositional rules
SHUTTER & EXPOSURE COMPENSATION
Freezing and creating motion and exposure compensation - putting the full picture together
